We fell in love for this beautifull breed over 20 years ago. My very first Irish Setter was born in 1983. He was Swedish imported handsome male. He became multiple Best In Group-winning Crown Points Double Fantasy. He was top winning irish setter late 80´s. I handled him to many great wins and learned a lot. He made me decide to be a breeder of this wonderful breed.

For ten years we searched and searched beautifull foundation stocks from all over the world. There simply wasn´t dogs that we felt would suite the breed standard and orginal purposes the way we felt. Afterall this breed should have elegant functional structure of the hunting dog. Structure that make moving in the field easy. Chic Choix-Team was used to breed only dogs with unique top producing pedigrees, generations of champions and beutyfull top winning dogs that fits the breed standard. One clear day we heard about unique Quailmoor Irish Setters from Australia bred by Norma & Graham Hamilton, Australia.

That was the begin of it all. Years later we actually got our superior, all time top winning Iris Setter bitch Multiple BIS Quailmoor Night Lark, who was born 1993. Soon later arrived Multiple BIS AUST Ch, Quailmoor Jamaican Rum - these both dogs have won twice Helsinki Int. shows entries each times between 5.000 - 7.000 dogs. We also have other foundation bitch from U.S.A. BIG-pl. Meadowlarks Miks´Chic Choix.

We try to breed sound - perfectly moving Irish Setters that could work at the field any time. Even if we do not use these dogs for hunting we feel they have to have structure of working dog. Chic Choix breeds elegant Irish Setters with beautiful long original heads with soft impressions. Irish Setter must have deep long chest: not round. Topline must be superbly carried with good strong neck. Our Irish Setter are well feathered with superior coat texture - coat texture that is so rare now-a-days! Tail must be carried nicely not over the topline. Angulations should be good in front and behind - giving power for the beautiful soft well reaching Irish Setter movement. Movement that is almost disapeard....

We have two breeding traditions going on Anglo-Australian and Aust.-Am. mix-line. The idea with these both is the same to produce high quality Irish Setters however first tradition concentrate strongly for the breed details and other tradition concentrate more for the superior movements : this way we also produce more genetical variation and Chic Choix-Teams very own work is the tradition number three our very own Irish Setters: combination between our first and second tradition trying to produce the ultimate Irish Setters - dogs that set the limits.

Our meaning is not to breed hyper type Hackney action setters or over heavy spaniel type setters. We have studied lot the breed history, respect its original purpose and the breed standard. We breed with greatest care and with very critical breeding programme Irish Setters that we feel suite the purpose-breed standard and meet the style of today. We feel being very lonely at this breed - but there is still many those left who still remember and understand what this breed is.....So our dogs are admired by many of the breed fanciers-judges and breeders who love and respect this unique breed. There is much to do and we have put all our energy to breed Irish Setters we believe are true, happy, healthy outgoing Irish Setters: The most beautifull breed of them all.

Chic Choix wants to breed only dogs with rare unique pedigrees - that have something to give. We do not want to have matador pedigrees but exclusive pedigrees with top results. We combinate our strong Quailmoor tradition Irish setters with some of the best European and American traditions keeping the true Irish Setter and breed standard in mind. Because of the very old fashion rules in Finland Irish setters can´t be champions without very hard field trial tests - so thatwise our dogs are not FIN Ch´s. Otherwise most of the Irish setters we bred would showwise be Champions. We have owned/bred several BIS & BISS winners and group winners.

We have exported our Setters to 10 different countries around the world. We are very proud about our unique Irish Setters and work hard to save the true type of Irish Setters. All our dogs are at private stud only - because we strongly believe genetical variation. We do also line breed sometimes but with greatest care to true breed legends that are not living in every living room. We do breed about litter a year and we are very happy about the fruits so far.

Chic Choix-Team have sometimes show/breeding quality puppies available also on co-ownership for loving-showing homes that love this wild beautifull noble breed. There is also rarely pets available. All our Irish Setters are bred at home conditions with non commercial interest. We try to breed most of genetical variation in mind, trying to avoid genetical problems specially GLAD and epilepsy. Hips have been fair and we try to breed them better.

All our Irish Setters have superior breed typical social strong outgoing temperaments and fair birding ability. Most of all our Irish Setters are bred for loving athletic companions and for showing. We do have respected exclusive Chic Choix name to take care of thats why we have get only happy Irish Setter owners... and we have to breed and work for perfection to keep it that way...
