Chic Choix-Team respects and studies cultures – nature and the environment very deeply. The Tibetan nature and its interesting culture is the main theme with our lhasa apso breeding program. Lhasa apsos are the results of a very rough environment. We try to maintain and continue lhasa apso breeding respecting and at the same time thinking where this unique breed came from.That´s why the original lhasa apso temperament is very important for us. Lhasa apsos are very noble individuals, loving and respecting their owners but reserved with people they do not know.

We love apsos with strong healthy temperament - dogs that have good self confidence. They are also highly intelligent and very clean dogs.Lhasa apsos are very healthy built dogs. The environment has created dogs with very dry bodies - nothing has been overdone. The head is quite long pear shaped. We breed for a tight reverse scissors bite. Eyes should be very dark and not round or large. We try most of all to breed dogs that move as perfectly as possible - carrying themselves naturally. The lhasa neck is beautifully arched with a proud attitude. We try to keep our Lhasas very moderate in size. We work hard for the coats trying to produce ideal coat texture.

Chic Choix has a very unique/rare collection of pedigrees from all over the world. Our ground stone has been San Jo-Lhasa apsos from M. Nixon and L. A. Engen. We have combined these outstanding dogs with the best traditions we have found. We have imported and done co-operation with Kinderland-Ta Sen, Hylan - Sho Tru, Char-Ru and Marlo kennels. From these American traditions we have two different breeding programs.

The first one is strongly San Jo - Abbotsford based dogs mixed with Hamilton-Orlane traditions. From this tradition we try to produce clean effectively moving very sound dogs - with superior heads and impressions. Most of all trying to produce perfect fronts with nice angulation and good reach. Also dogs that are very ideal in size and have superior tail carriages with moderate angulations behind - producing very effective clean movements. With this breeding program we also pay great attention to colors trying to produce perfectly marked parti colors. We also try to produce sable, red-golden, black & silver and golden colors. From this tradition we could point out for ex. legendary Multiple BIG-winning (3 countries), BISS INT & FIN & AM & Swe & Norw & DK & Est CH, FINW-94-95 CHIC CHOIX ASHLEY WILKES.

Our other breeding traditions is more Orlane-Saxonsprings influenced traditions like Hylan - Sho Tru and Kinderland Ta Sen mixed with our first tradition . In this breeding program we concentrate strongly on breeding shorter loins, stronger neck arches, stronger angulations behind and more moderate angulations in front. Outlines are very elegant and eye catching. Also in this tradition we concentrate on very outgoing temperaments. Color wise our aim is to produce goldens, creams, whites, black & silvers and silvers. From this tradition we could point out for ex. Multi BIS Winning INT & Fin & S & N CH CHIC CHOIX PARTI DUDE and BIG-pl. INT & Fin & AM & Norw & Swe CH CHIC CHOIX TWELVEOAK´S LADY.

Our third and very own - unique tradition is to mix the best examples of fine Lhasas we can find and produce from what ever tradition and try to breed very typically Chic Choix Lhasas with very wide-genetically large gene pools. The idea is to create or try to create our ideal lhasas with superior movement and carriage, with breed typical-long heads, with outstanding arched necks, high carried tail with an ultimately strong behind and well angulated front with straight front legs. Also lhasas that are slightly longer than tall and with noble but outgoing temperaments. Size must be bred for the breed standard, color can be what ever as long as it is clean and pure. All Chic Choix Lhasas that are used for breeding are naturally, physically and mentally healthy dogs that must look good. They have to have genetically (pedigree wise) much to offer as we breed for genetical variation, even if line breeding is used. Chic Choix-Team Lhasas must most of all have very unique rare pedigrees combining the very best American and European traditions. We have already owned/bred over 40 Champions, BIS & BISS winners, group winners and very good producers although all our Lhasas are most of all at private or very limited stud only. We care and love this very unique breed and try to do our very best to produce the finest Lhasas apsos we simply can.
